After Chernobyl Photo Exhibit and Fundraiser
On Friday August 6, 2010, FOCCUS will be hosting a social gathering at A Better Buzz Coffee House and Art Gallery on Hwy 14 just East of Arena, WI to raise money to support the five Chernobyl Centers in Ukraine.
FOCCUS is Hosting a Chernobyl Town Hall Meeting: On Thursday June 17, 2010, from 7:30-9:00pm in Room 1651 at the Mosse Humanities Building on the campus of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. As part of our Open World Program, our five delegates from the Chernobyl Region of Ukraine will share their experiences living in Ukraine and discuss the challenges that they are facing trying to overcome the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.....
24th Anniversary Reception at Ukrainian Embassy in Washington DC: April 26, 2010 marks the 24th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. FOCCUS is honored to be a part of the reception that is being hosted by the Ukrainian Embassy to commemorate the 24th anniversary. The reception will also feature the “After Chernobyl” Photo Exhibit by Michael Forster Rothbart. The photos in this exhibit show what it's like to live in this contaminated zone of Ukraine.
2010 Center Grants: A very important way that FOCCUS supports the Chernobyl Centers is through our Request For Proposal Program, where FOCCUS awards a grant to each Center for a project uniquely tailored for that community. FOCCUS has again received applications for 5 very impressive Center projects which we are excited to support ....
